I have begun sculpting out the Aracno Gorilla in the wet clay given to us, I'm told that this type of clay last longer before it dry's then most which will be very usefull in the coming week or so making it (may need to watch out for it drying to much towards the end incase it cracks). Im using a board that I made to sculpt the head on to, It has a part in the middle that sticks out with a hole in it which I can wrap the clay around. As well as this it has two other featchers, firstlly scews on the back that will allow me to remove the board easier much later in the process, and a wood sealing glose, so that the wood dosen't obsorbe the mostier of the clay. So far I've only starting on roughing out the details of the head, I'll be going into more detail with more refrence later on.
These are the casts of the legs from earlier. I am now using them to make hard Resin legs. Though I could of made silicone legs which would be easier to attach latter to the main head, I wanted to try it since firstly it was an opportunity to use a different material, and secondly I think it would make the legs look different from the rest of the cast. The first couple are a little rough around the edges but can be sanded down to look a bit cleaner, though the rough effect might help the look of a rough bug exo-Skellington. In any case it is an ideas to play with later
